Architecture, Craft, and Interests

Michael Angelo DeGirolamo is an architectural

designer currently working for Kohn Pedersen Fox in

New York City. He has experience in single family

construction and renovations, custom millwork,

digital fabrication, and architectural services

ranging from large scale airport and light rail

transportation projects to small scale single family

residential.

After finishing his master's degree in Architecture at

the University of Toronto, Michael considers himself

a "forever student". He is eager to build on his

academic foundations as well as his practical

understanding in construction.

He is driven to progress his knowledge of anything

architecture, built, or written. Throughout his

educational career opportunities have provided him

with exciting design related problem solving

exercises. One such opportunity was a collaboration

with Michael Piper at Dub Studios on a play set for

the New York Department of Transportation. Such a

venture required comprehension of constructibility

and digital fabrication while holding an

imagination to design and assemble small

components (link to project here).

Michael has always endeavoured to collaborate and

do things as a team in and outside of work - a belief

that has been instilled through years of high-level

sports and varying scholastic adventures.
